GRASP RE-CERTIFICATION Training - August 2, 2012

Registration is closed for this event

This GRASP (Giving Ready Adults a Study Program) training will renew your GRASP certification if you are a veteran GRASP teacher with current certification. Kathy Berkheimer, a NYSED certified trainer, will provide the training.

The morning session will review the GRASP manual including: marketing, assessment, delivery, record-keeping and forms, post testing, student folders and funding. Attendance in the morning session will meet SED guidelines for GRASP re-certification.

The afternoon session will be open to both veteran teachers and new teachers, but designed for teachers new to distance learning and/or GRASP. This optional session for veteran teachers will cover teacher responsibilities: assignments, student communication, materials, and motivation and retention. This session will have ample time for questions.

9:00 – 12:00 - For CURRENT  VETERAN GRASP teachers and those teachers NEW to distance learning/GRASP
12:00 – 12:30 – A light lunch will be provided for all.
12:30 – 2:30 - Designed for teachers NEW to distance learning and/or GRASP; veteran teachers welcome.

Please note: Per NYSED policy, certification to deliver GRASP lasts three years. You are a veteran and current teacher if you still hold your three year certification; otherwise, you are considered to be a new teacher.

Be sure to bring your GRASP manual.

When you register, please indicate whether you will attend just the morning session and  stay for lunch or  will attend all-day.
